Last night for about 5 hours my 5 year old daughter was vomiting and had diarrhea. She is feeling better today, had some soup, but what are some other good foods to feed after having the flu? She is a very picky eater. She is a chicken eater most of all, and is not too fond of soups. Any ideas would be great. I've already have the jell-o, and applesauce, and popcicles. What about something more filling. I know you shouldn't push food, but I hate her not eating anything. Thanks, and sorry for any misspellings, only a couple hours of sleep going on here. Parenting : How Can I Get My 10 Month Old To Stop Feeding During The Night
My little girl is just over 10 months old and was starting to sleep through the night before her teeth came in. Now she has 4 with 2 more on the way and she will not sleep for more than 4 hours during the night without wanting a feed. We've tried to water her milk down but she wakes earlier as its not filling her. She wakes crying, we try everything before resorting to the bottle then once shes full she goes back off to sleep. We've tried everything we can think of and are desperate for some sleep, please help. She is on solids. She has her supper (baby rice) at about 7pm, then a nice warm bath where she plays for a while then its down time, ready for bed, bottle (she usually takes 6oz) then bed. She is eating ok and doing ok during the day. We have had her in the same routine since she was born practically. I'm gonna send her to live with her grandma if she carries on. She gets Baby rice mixed with fruit or pudding for supper, she gets her tea (usually home made veg with something and a sweet) between and 5pm and she eats quite a bit during the day. We tried her with just water during the night and I've never seen a strop like it. She screamed for about 5 mins then got quite violent hitting me and her dad and knocking the bottle out of our hand. We ended up giviing her 2ounces of milk to 6 of water and she drank it then wouldnt settle. Its looking like a comfort thing rather than a hunger one as she does eat a lot. ~~~ Darth_666 ~~~

Hi, I want to change my daughter's milk feeds from a teated bottle to a beaker. She happily drinks water from a beaker during the day but will not take her morning and evening milk feeds from it. My son still breastfeeds about 3 or 4 times a day, usually morning, mid afternoon and bedtime. He won't drink cows' milk or formula. Toddler Preschooler : How Can I Stop My 18mth Old From Biting Me And Others
I have a delightful 18mth old girl. The only problem is she bites. If I take something from her / stop her doing something, she is likely to bite me. If she is frustrated she is likely to bite me. And sometimes when she appears happy and calm, she may bite. Occassionally, she will bite other children, apparently for no reason. I know that all children at some stage bite, but it seems that she bites more than most, and has been doing so for over 3 months. It is also strange that she bites me (her father) but not her mother, grandparents etc. I've tried a lot of things to stop her. I've removed her from the situation, got onto her eye level and told her no biting. I've shouted at her (and then felt very bad). I've ignored it (painful). I remove my arm / hand / finger / neck / cheek when I se her moving in for the bite. None of the above strategies have worked. Any ideas? ~~~ Paul M ~~~

I for many of my own decisions have decided to bottle feed my baby when born. I know all the advice on breast feeding and how it is best. Does anyone agree that it seems stupid that even though there is the choice there to use bottle instead of breast we can only ever get advice on breast feeding. I have alsready had lots of leaflets from every organisation going on breast feeding, but bottle feeding i have only found bits in baby books about the mechanics of sterilising and feeding. Toddler Preschooler : How Can I Work Around My Limited Schedule At Home To Go Back To Work And School
I am a mother with big dreams but little guidance of help and support. I have two little girls by the ages of 3 and 5. I have been staying at home for the past 8 months and I feel that I want to go back to work and register for school courses next year. But the only problem is that, I have to make sure I work around my schedule at home. My husband works out of state, 2nd shift job, 7 pm to 7am, alternating Saturdays thru Tuesdays, and mandatory over time on Wednesdays or Thursdays. I can't rely on him to help me watch my kids while I go to work or go back to school because he'll sleeping throughout the day tired from work. I don't have family here. I cant put my girls in daycare because it is way tOo expensive and I am not eligible for child care assistance. I have sOo much that I want to do with my life but I just have no one to watch my kids. Could anyone help me with any suggestions of what I can do, so that I could get my life back on track? I just don't know what to do anymore. ~~~ Dreams... ~~~
