phuket :] ive been to both when i went 2 thailand last year n enjoyed phuket more - it does depend on what u do though - i went on elephant rides n alot of stuff :] when i went to bangkok it was very crowded n dirty streets - but it had shoppi g malls n stuff - more for sum1 whos more on shopping .- though it deoes depend which area u stay in - u could go to a peaceful hotel out all the houses n stuff.
