It depends both on the age group of your volunteers, age group/type of person you are targeting, as well the resources you have available. Younger people (often girls) do better bikini washes then trying to get their friends to go to a basket bingo or craft fair. Does anyone you know sell anything? (longaberger baskets, Arbonne, tupperwear etc.) See about Haveing them donate things for prizes or a raffle. Does someone have a large yard or have access to a hall? Do most people your targeting to show up have kids? Kiddie carnivals are fun (kids bring parents, parents bring money). If you have good connections with local businesses you can ask them to sponcer booths and post ads for them. Any time you have low costs or cost for supplies etc donated youll have a good event. Basket Bingos are fun as are chinese auctions and kiddie carnivals, Car Wash and if you are friends with a local performer a concert can go well. Also, try finding a local community service group and work with them, they have a lot of networking and may be willing to work with you. Like an BPO Elks club or Churches or something. Goodluck!
