Let me guess, you went to a British School, Correct?. The day I left school I swore that I would NEVER eat any more milk puddings as long as I lived, for 40+ years I have kept that vow. There is one thing, after British School food (I wasa boarder) I can and do eat ANYTHING that is put before me (except Semolina, Rice or Tapioca puddings)

Wash rice by putting it in a sieve and running water through Fine cereals - put in a dish, cover with cold water. Stir well and leave to settle. Then pour off water.

OMG!!! I pity your kids! I hope you are not like my mothers friend who forced my sister to sit through lunch, all the afternoon, dinner time and then again the next morning with a cold, congealed bowl of semolina pudding as a punishment because she did not like it. I had a similar experience with my father and brussels sprouts. Cruelty.
