How do I make a really tasty spaghetti bolognase without hours of cooking the sauce, I use rump steak and mince it myself which does give some more flavour but the end product always seems as though it has a long way to go for flavour. ~~~ Steve C ~~~

Fine, Ill give you my secret. I make an awesome sauce.. and I cheat a little too which cuts down on time. Buy a jar of prego w/ roasted garlic and sweet basil. Then I brown some ground beef (80/20), drain, add in about a cup of minced sweet onions, a splash of worschestire sauce, and a tablespoon of chopped fresh garlic. When the onions become transluscent (and dont burn the garlic!) add in the sauce. I also add about 2-3 tablespoons sugar ( I like that it takes the acidity out of the tomatoes) Let that simmer for about 20 minutes so the flavors meld together. You can add any other special touches to it but this is my favorite, easy meat sauce.

Answer 1
Try using your normal recipe, but add one small cube of dark chocolate to it! I know it sounds weird, but it gives it a really unique flavour. Failing that, try half a glass of red wine.

there arent any short cuts when it comes to authentic bolognese cooking...however, u can try by carmelizing the onions and garlic, not burning though, be careful,,,that usually gives it flavor, u know u have to brown the meat separately first, add onions and garlic with that too...

2lb lean mince, 2 large onions chopped, 3 cans plum tomatoes, garlic powder, 2 tspns italian herbs, 1beef stock cube, 1tspn paprika. Dry fry the mince and pour off all liquor, add finely chopped onions, tomatoes and other ingredients, bring to the boil then cover and simmer for about 1 cube of chocolate or 1 small glass of good red wine. cook your spaghetti until al dente, cover with sauce and a little ground chilli peppers if liked and serve with garlic bread and paremsan cheese. Add a heaped teaspoon of sugar to your bolognese sauce when you adjust the salt and pepper seasoning. Seriously! It brings the flavour out in the tomatoes and also takes the edge off any sharpness. Its the secret to mine and it always goes down well with those who have it!
Answer 13
i do it the slow way, and its so much better when the flavours all combine. just shove it in the oven on a really low heat, put tinfoil over the dish then put the lid on, that way you dont lose any moisture either. there are so many recipes for bolognese - im sure you have your own! do what you normally do then after cooking it off in the pan do what ive just said - leave it for a hour or so while enjoying a glass of wine and then dig in! either that or start it off in the pan and put it in a slow cooker for the time youre out at work or in the pub. will all be ready for when you come home
