Best Answer To Dogs Question
I do not recommend getting a mini dachshund and I say this from experience. I have 3 dogs, one of them being a mini dachshund, and he is a terror. Difficult to housetrain - one of the top 20 most difficult to housetrain according to my trainer. He will go up to my two other dogs and steal away whatever they have in their mouths, and when they follow him to get it back, he attacks them... and not in a playful way. They are notorious for barking, and it is a very loud and annoying bark. There are plenty of other breeds that I think would be better.

Answer 5If you buy a dog from a puppy and immediately start introducing it to your other dogs and cats then it should grow up dog/cat friendly. :) I don't think any specific breed is automatically bad with other dogs/cats. Though, You have to be careful with smaller pets like hamsters and such as some dogs used to hunt small prey (Like yorkies) and they automatically have the urge to do so again.
Answer 6Hi there... i have a minature daschund who is now 18 months old who i LOVE to pieces!!!! I can tell u safely that, from what ive seen, whenver she plays with other bigger dogs they get along great! Peanut is very submissive and will lick them and try to play with them. If any nipping starts then i just grab her mouth and say "no biting" in a firm voice and she'll stop.. now she doesnt even do it anymore. My friend has a cat and whenever Peanut sees Peaches she tries to play with her. The cat doesnt like Peanut but Peanut doesnt really care and still tries to play with her. Even if the cat spits at Peanut she will back off and just watch her. Daschunds are very loving and very protective of their owners. They love getting attention, hugs and kisses and are very loving in return. They also love burrowing under a blanket and sleep for most of the day and all night. If you train ur puppy from the moment you get him or her, she will be a joy to be around and will be obedient to you, submissive in every way..... but you need to be firm with him or her from the get-go - dont get swayed by those little puppy eyes :) Daschunds have spontaneous, fun, courageous and loving personalities. My husband and I dont regret getting Peanut for one second. She fills my life with joy and every time i go home after work i look forward to seeing her. Whenever i am sad she is right there by my side trying to give me kisses and cuddles up in my neck with her little head. And when i am happy she is right there bounding up and down, her tail wagging a million miles an hour! You cant go wrong with a minature doxie!!! Hope everything works out for you....
Answer 7dogs temperment is directly associated with what it is taught. if you dont teach it right from wrong, youll have nothing but problems. as far as health issues i know of; they have back issues later in life , and they seem to have problems with cataracts eventhough i dont think that is a breed specific common health problem. other than that have fun, they are cool little dogs.

Answer 9My doxies loved our cat. Sadly I don't have any of the animals anymore but the doxies loved to play with the cat. I can only imagine they would have loved to play with the golden I have now. They are great family dogs!!! I miss mine.
