I have started basic obediance training now at 5 mths. I am very interested in getting her into search and rescue, any info would help. ~~~ Anthony P ~~~

If I was you I would get ahold of a search and rescue group and ask them how to go about this. What a great thing for you and your bloodhound. They love this kind of work and live for it. But in the mean time you can start making tracks in the dew....or a friend and then take him out and have him follow the person or you down. Make sure you praise him alot and give some treats also. Play hide and seek with him..funny but it works. Do this in the house to. Also call your local obedience groups or AKC and they can give you alot of information. Good luck.

Are you attending classes? Or just teaching commands on your free time? If you are attending classes you need to speak with your teacher, they can advise you as to finding instruction, age and whether your dog is a good candidate. I started my male on tracking when he was 6 months old. Its become one of his favorite activities.
