Give everyone a day off and have the Christmas Party at a banquet hall. It will be fun.

A catered or potluck lunch at the office during working hours

Sounds like you need to have an all night party - from 11pm till 6 am or at least a very late party. It could start at like 9:30 pm and then the last shift could join you when they get off. Alternately just have a carry-in of snacks and recipes and have it available all day. I dont think that would be as much fun though.
