Friends : How Do I Become More Comfortable Greeting Friends By First Name
My problem is greeting someone by their name instead of just saying hi. I want to do it because its polite and friendly, but I havent grown up doing it so it feels weird. Suggestions? ~~~ Curmic and the magical wombats ~~~
Best Answer To Friends Question
It is difficult when greeting new people especially so I understand what you mean. Maybe greeting the person in an open way will be more comfortable for example instead of just saying "hi John" and then nothing more you could say "hi John hows it going?" or "hi John how are you?". Take note of how they greet you too, to give you more of idea what to say.

Answer 1
Start with your best friends, who you are most comfortable with. They should be the easiest to greet that way. It may be tough, but when you are finally used to greeting them that way, move on to more people. Keep this up, moving at whatever pace you are ready for. Eventually, youll be able to greet anybody by first name.

Rehearse saying it by yourself. And then, choose one friend at a time, starting with the ones you are closest with, and greet them with their first name. If you keep on doing this, youll get used to using their names when you greet them. :)
