it hard for out side help in the Philippines because the government is so corrupt that they take all the aid for them self and do not use it to help the country... the people need to take over the government and kick out corruptions.

The people are getting by, but some of the things they have to eat to get by is terrible. The government is mostly corrupt, and it has gotten so bad that changing it seems impossible. If money is sent to help out, most of it ends up lining the pockets of politicians. I think President Arroyo is trying, but it is something that will take a lot longer than she still has in office. When I visit, I do what I can for my Filipino family (in-laws). I plan to move to the Philippines soon and I will do what I can for the neighborhood I will be moving to, but Im not a rich man, so my impact will be small.
