I work at a large church and I am looking for ways to help cut cost. A lot of the thermostats which are spread thoughout the church keep getting left on at very low temps. ~~~ Christopher R ~~~

several companies make electronic t-stats that have a "password" to lock and unlock the temp buttons. get the 7 day programmable type. you can tailor time and temp to meeting in different areas of the building. do not set them higher than 5-8*f then the comfort temp. setting UNLESS that area isnt going to be used for seveal days. on the other hand you may have problems if the t-stats arent set right. example: if the chapel is going to be used at 7 pm. set the stat to start cooling at 4 pm. set the other t-stats in that area to atleast 5*F MAX higher. otherwise the chapel may not get comfortable due to the extra heat in the surrounding area, or may have to much of a heat load. it wont be able to cool down enough before all the warm bodies arrive. if you dont have programmable t-stats now, i GUARANTEE you WILL SAVE the money it costs to put them in.
