I think (if Im recalling the figure correctly) 60,000 plastic bags are tossed out every 5 seconds (worldwide). I have no idea about the cloth bags. Ive never tossed one! When I was six years old, my Mom amp; I purchased one at Pike Place Market in Seattle. Im in my 40s now....the bag is still perfect, and we still use it. Its never even been repaired! ~Garnet Permaculture homesteading/farming over 20 years
