Mental Health. What Job Would You Recommend For A Friend Of Mine Who Is Recovering From A Nervous Breakdown.

He hasn't worked for a couple of years, but has recently started voluntary work with a wildlife trust. He wants something outdoors, he is physically fit, but his social skills aren't too good, he really only feels comfortable around people he trusts, so he would prefer something that doesn't involve contact with people too much. I've tried to think of something to help him, but I'm really stuck. All help is appreciated, thanks. BTW he lives in Dorset. ~~~ Bum Gravy. ~~~

Best Answer To Mental Health Question

Hi there, If he rings his local Job Centre Plus there should be a Disability Assessment officer who he can speak to, and they should be able to tell him about various agencies which find work/placements for people with mental health issues/ disabilities etc.( I know the disability thing is not a nice label but they are there for all disabling conditions!) They are given an allowance from the government to provide placements for people who may need a bit of support or allowance to get back to work, and as the persons confidence and stamina improve, some are offered permanent jobs, I don't know the Dorset area, but sure it will exist there. Some agencies focus on out door/gardening regeneration projects which sound like they would suit your friend and hopefully his social skills will improve as a result. You sound like a good friend! Good luck hope this helps!

Places like petpals etc (pet sitters are becoming more and more popular). I hire someone to come to my house to feed, groom and play with my pets when I am on holiday. There is minimum people contact as you have to meet them and check out where everyhting is in the house and that's it you and the pets. With dogs the dogs are also walked (outdoors). You have to be police vetted usually because of people trusting you in their houses and a woman near me hast started her own pet sitting service. They also walk dogs when their owners are at work. I suppose he could look for wwork on a farm or at a local rescue centre (I think thats usually volunteers to). He could retrain as a farrierThe only way to become a farrier is to undertake a four-year Advanced Apprenticeship with an Approved Training Farrier. The Advanced Apprenticeship includes a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) at Level 3 in Farriery, Key Skills, Business Studies, IT and the Worshipful Company of Farriers Diploma. The entry requirements are 4 GCSEs (grades A-C including English Language) or the Farriery Access Course. Training consists of work-based learning with the Approved Training Farrier, interspersed with periods of college-based training. For more information, contact the Farriery Training Service on Tel. 01733 319770 or visit their website .uk. Alternatively contact Lantra Connect on Tel. 0845 707 8007 or email connect@.uk All the best of luck to your friend.

AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLER.

Answer 11

Would he be interested in farm work do you think? Or maybe working in a zoo feeding the animals etc? This might be an idea as it sounds like he cares for animals. I think the best thing he can do really, whatever type of job he does have is get into it slowly and not take too much on at once. Maybe he could work part time, even if it's just to begin with? I hope all goes well for your friend and wish you both all the best of luck xx

Online advertising strategy that keeps bringing in the cold hard cash

The Golden Book of Proof

Are You Making These Advertising Mistakes? According to copywriter of 8,600 ads and sales letters, Brett McFall, 93.5% of business owners lose money on their advertising. And the figure is even higher when it comes to online campaigns. Mainly due, he says, to the lack of marketing knowledge by the business owner, not the poor performance of the advertising medium.

But it can all be turned around very quickly, says McFall. In fact, one little wording change to an ad can increase response by as much as 3,148%. He's proven it. Which for some business owners could mean thousands of extra dollars that right they are losing out on.

A change to the offer, for instance, can increase response by up to 300%. The Golden Book of Proof has many little techniques for achieving this.
