The USA doesn't protect anyone. It belongs to NATO which is a band of allied countries sworn to mutual defence which is why the UK and other countries supplied troops to support the US in campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan after 9/11 - to protect America, as well as protect themselves. The French should be speaking German and we'd have a lot of Americans who got to live out their lives instead of dying in France.
