Other Dining Out : How Do I Become A Really Good Waitress

i have two interviews tomorrow at two different places! but i want to make a good impression in both places, but how can i do this? what shall i wear and what shall i say? they want to see how good i can handle with the work! but what type of things should i be good at in a job like this :D please help! if you have any advice at all then that is great thank you :D xx ~~~ Erika ~~~

One thing is you have to know your product. If its fine dining, then you need to know all about wine. You will need to study their menu as well. Also, when working in a restaurant, you have to have a really good attitude even when people are grouchy and hungry.

You just need to learn by doing with being a waitress. I would just wear what your comfortable in dont look like a bum thought and I wouldnt dress up too much because youll look like your interviewing of some other more formal jobs too. You need to be a good people person to be a waitress so smile and laugh a lot. Dont be shy make conversation.

Dress conservative, speak clear and plain. For your job, you should know the menu and drinks well, learn them asap. Listen to the customers, smile and be very friendly. Wear black slacks or skirt with a plain white shirt with sleeves (modest, not low-cut or revealing) or something similar. And wear comfortable low-heeled shoes. Theres a LOT of walking and standing involved in waitressing. Smile (even if your feet hurt). Dont wear dangly jewelry like chandelier or big hoop earrings (a watch and a wedding ring would be okay). Be very polite and listen carefully. Pay attention to your tables, not only what they ask for but what they will need. Example: if they ask for more bread, bring more butter, too. Will they need a steak knife? What about extra napkins? You have to think through these possible needs. Dont dawdle: move quickly but carefully (so you dont run into anyone). You dont want to tip over anyones tray carrying 10 plates. Watch the "in" and "out" doors of the kitchen (most kitchens have one for in and one for out, so dont get them confused) and dont use the wrong one. Ask if you should pool any tips you get with the rest of the wait staff. Keep smiling.

just be your self and answer the interviewer clearly and with confident but not over confident.. you should know your product and you should have an idea on the resataurant do some research.. about the dresscode if its fine dinning wear something formal if its not semi formal can be.. make sure also that you have a question for the interviewer if they ask you "do you have a question"?something that they can think of or stocked up.. dont seat unless the interviewer tell you to seat smile as always dont used superb strong perfume used light make up pony your hair far away from your face used single colored outfit and be prepare!!!
