I cant stand it when people go for buffet and take tons of food which they cant even finish and let them go to waste. Worse still, they eat like pigs and create a terrible mess for the cleaners to clear. How uncivilised! And the worst thing is that these people "role-model" all the inconsiderate, selfish and uncivilised ways of getting, wasting and eating food with horrible table etiquette to their children. at a diner in a restraunt i always try to like not make a big mess so the workers dont have to clean it all up for me like a slave or something,and my mom is like: "oh, no you dont have to do that;the workers will clean that ; i think its very rude of people who make a big mess while eating and never finish cleaning up... im not a clean freak,im acually very messy(you should see my room.)but i just think that is very incusniderate.

I guess its not very nice, but here are some points to consider.... I dont go to buffets very often as they have such poor quality food and charge way too much for it. Sometimes I have to get several things to find something that is eatable. So, that obviously leaves the things that were not, still on my plate. Since you have to go back and get a fresh plate, thats going to leave one with food still on it. Larger plates would help. As for waste, every buffet restaurant tosses out TONS of food that they never even serve, so I dont think restaurant waste can be blamed only on the customer. The plates are often saucer sized. I am a tiny lady but even I can get a full meal on one of those plates, so its inevitable food is going to fall off the plate. As for leaving "a terrible mess for the cleaners to clean" well, it may not be a fun job, but that IS the cleaners job- to clean. I am not sure what your job it, but if you work with the public in a service industry like a restaurant, there is a thing called excellent customer service that all employees should give all customers- even the ones that eat like pigs. Its just part of the job. Plus, most people have things about their jobs they hate. If you feel so strongly about the public you work for, then perhaps you should look at a different line of work.

i think they go to all-you- can-eat buffets so they can sit on their lazy butts and make a mess so someone else can clean it, than say thats what they get paid

But real pigs dont eat that way. Well, the restaurant is a public place. So if you cant stand these clients, you can ask for a private room. Eating is supposed to be pleasurable. Like if you love to hold a drumstick with your naked hand and bite the meat off like some wild animal, then go ahead because if you were to expect him to cut with a fork and a knife and sit properly and have a napkin and all that and dont talk, then that fellow is not enjoying his meal.

Yes, I agree that some people are not very "neat" about how they eat. They probably lack proper eating etiquette at home as well.

I think its nasty seeing people waste food, and being real messy makes it worse. People in other countries are starving and when they get food they have manners and dont waste cause they cant.

I work as a waitress (20+years), and it is disguisting. People waste soo much food. I love how people want water, and then dont drink it. Then why bother ordering it? Because its free? There will be disguisting people forever. They dont care. I would care. I dont want people thinking Im a pig and leaving crap all over. The thing is, other people watch too! I would dare say that most buffet places throw out more food than what is being consumed.
