It is not a hardware resettable feature. A special ping needs to be sent to the receiver with a operand to the bios to reset to default pass-code, that Dish will only provide once identity is confirmed. So besides knowing the password to turn it off, if it was forgotten you need will need to contact the provider for this service. Both Sat providers enabled this feature to prevent unauthorized receivers (hot) and as a safeguard for charges as most pay per view content is by use charged, and to comply with the FCCs mandate for a ratings based parental block. So your hesitance to contact Dish makes me wonder if possibly your are a house sitter with nothing to do, a person stealing signal and service, or a minor with too much time on your hands. There are better things to do than watch TV.

Answer 1
You have to have the password it wont work without it.
Answer 2
Theres a reason y ur parents have locked the PORN channels, if u want the pass so badly then open up the reciever and remove the red cable and hook it up again to restart the whole thing, keep in mind that by doing this u will void the warranty and I will not be held responsible for anything stupid u do.
