Other Electronics : Whats The Difference Between CCFL Lit And LED Backlit Screens On Laptops

Does anyone know the answer to this? Ive heard LED backlit screens are lighter, brighter/sharper and consumes less energy so the battery lasts a bit longer. Is this true? Also, its more expensive than CCFL, but is it actually worth the extra $$? Thanks! ~~~ InForm ~~~

Well, maybe. CCFL is brighter (at first) but they do loose some of that over time. CCFL has these advantages over most LED backlights Higher Brightness and Contrast (at first) Longer Lifetime (Over 50000 hours) Low Power Consumption Low Heat Generation High Color Rendering They do however fade over time and may at some point need to be replaced. They are better lighting. LEDs require MORE power UNLESS they are the PWM type. Then the LED wins.
