Other Electronics : Why Are Blue Standby Lights Increasingly Common On Electrical Products

Is there any particular reason for this? Red lights have always been the most common, or some with yellow or green LEDs to show that the TV, VCR, etc is on or on standby, but there seems to be this big move towards blue lights on the power button. My PC has a blue light, as does the monitor and the Wii. Any ideas? ~~~ Marc ~~~

Because blue is much cooler than red, red is an angry colour, however with global warming an all if I saw my telly with a cute little blue light on at bedtime id probably leave it and think "Ahh cute little blu light is great reminds me im alive and now i feel cool and calm", yes leave it on- goodbye planet! Red light-"OOOOHHH I DONT LIKE YOU!! ANGRY RED LIGHT, LETS TURN YOU OFF, YOU MAKE ME RESENT MY PAST!!!! turn it off. I think it is just a fashion, red lights are most common on TVs, and my monitor has a yellow standby light, but they are several years old. My new DVD recorder however has a bright blue light, it is in my bedroom and it is so bright that I have to put something over it to block out the light. This has never been a problem with my stereo which has a green clock display, and my TV which is normally switched off properly but doesnt bother me if the red light does remain on. The fact that the blue light is so bright that it keeps me awake suggests that it isnt using less power to create, it surely must be using more energy, and therefore it is just to emphasise the newness of the device.
