Other Local Businesses : What Is The Best Way To Market Boxed Lunches To Local Businesses
I own a new small restaurant that does gourmet soups, salads and sandwiches. We are trying to increase our "boxed lunch" sales. What is the best way to increase our sales of boxed lunches to local businesses in the area? We are new enough (about 1-2 weeks old) that basically nobody really knows about us yet. How can I get the word out to the right people to increase my sales for large take out orders to the big local companies? Thanks for any help. ~~~ tyzekiel ~~~
Best Answer To Other Local Businesses Question
Get to the secretaries (or assistants) if you can with those fliers. Then make it easy for them to have their lunches. One place I used was good about us faxing our orders over and theyd have it all bagged up with the engineers names on their order. Then I would go and pick it up. However, it has been about 10 years since I worked corporate and I dont know if its acceptable at all businesses. I was also an assistant who didnt mind doing such things in the best interest of morale. Make sure its as inclusive a lunch as possible as well. My engineers were able to get a sandwich, chips and a pickle for about 8 bucks. The sandwich shop I used would get an order from my group at least once a month (30 engineers) and other groups along the same frequency. It also helped that the sandwiches had names so it was easy to order. . John will have the New York, Eric will get the Broadway, Matt wants the Empire. Good luck!

I work with about 500 other employees. We had a similar shop open up locally. That place offered us employees a certain percentage off during lunch hours on certain. It wasnt much, but it made a difference to us. I assume that we are a majority of their business.
