Other Pets : How Many Out Of The Cage Play Time Hours Do Your Ferrets Get
Mine 4 hours a day. Some days free roam around the house (if they half way behave and stay out of the kitchen.) Glad you mentioned that. I have never seen a ferret proof house, but just ferret proof rooms. The kitchen has the most hazards. Refrigerators have been killers, dish washers (the door mechanism, not inside) ~~~ ferretguy5 ~~~

As long as Im home and awake, then their cage door is open and theyre free to come out as they please. They dont have free roam of the entire house, just my bedroom (which is ferret proof). I do from time to time give them run of other parts of the house, but only when I can keep a really close eye on them. Since Im working from home now, they have at least twelve hours of out-of-cage time every day during the week. They tend to go back in their cage to sleep, but the door is open so they can come out to rip and play whenever they want. Now on the weekends, they dont usually get quite as much time out because Im gone more, but even then they still get at least six hours out.

Answer 1
I would say at least about 2 hours a day but its better if whenever your home and not doing anything just take them out, but make sure you watch them they might chew on wires or something important! =]
Answer 2
mine about seven I took mine out everytime I was home. I also kept there cage door open in a ferret proof room so they can play when I was gone. This worked great, but unless its truly ferret proof they will get hurt or lost

My ferrets are confined to a ferret proofed room with lots of things to play with and explore. They get out of their cage practically all day. ;) I think the least time they have ever been out has been four hours. Its usually 8 or more.
