Other Politics Government : What Is The Best Way To Apply For A Crisis Loan

I have been very ill for a while now and unable to work, I am in receipt of benefits but these do not stretch very far. I am left with nothing to feed myself and my little girl until next Monday, what would people suggest is the best way to get a crisis loan from the department of work and pensions as I understand it can be very difficult. I have up until now always worked and been able to provide very well for myself and my daughter. ~~~ Jill A ~~~

It shouldnt be difficult at all for you because you have a child. Just explain your situation and I dont think they would refuse. Crisis loans are for people in a situation like yours. Good Luck =)

It can only be done by phone, it is a freephone number but money can only be collected at local jobseekersplus office. Call CAB for appointment with Welfare rights officer to ensure you are getting full benefits, best of luck.

when i applied for a crisis loan my mates who do this regulary told me to ask for double what i needed, they always offer half so you get what you want and it worked

I am sorry but I think you are getting more in benefits than I do by working and paying tax. You must get Tax Credits, Child Benefit, Single Parent Allowance and thats besides your basic benefit. No doubt you will also receive rent allowance and Council Tax rebate, so why you cant manage is beyond me. I am sorry that you have been ill, but you cant expect the tax payer to bail you out because you cant manage your money.
