Yes it isss. And its disgusting we do it to helpless infants =[ I was cut and hate it. I feel robbed and betrayed. Really the only thing we are doing with circumcision is promoting lazyness. We are just saying wel who cares if its mutilation and takes away alotof feeling froma guy. If its easyier to clean the lets just cut it off. Parents need to realize that if their son doesnt clean. Thats HIS issue. Not theirs. If their son gets an infection later from not cleaning then thats his problem not yours so let it go. Parents need to stop being so friggin controling. I dont care what anyone says. You do not have the right or the power to do that to your child. And you have abused your power as a parent if you have circumcised him. And should be sorry, because they have just undermined their son and punnished him for and infection or something he may not even get in the future. Basicaly they arent even giving their son a chance. He is just born and already they have judged him and written him off as a lazy non hygenic fulthy person. Thats messed up -Connor

We never remove toenails for conditions a person DOESNT have. Or none of us would have toenails, would we? On the other hand, we do perform circumcisions on perfectly healthy individuals. Ones we have no reason to believe are especially prone to disease. Nor, for that matter, is there even any absolute dead-bang research to demonstrate its beneficial for hygeine. According to the American Medical Association, "Virtually all current policy statements from specialty societies and medical organizations do not recommend routine neonatal circumcision". The reasons for doing so, then, must largely be non-medical.

yeah people some odd things because they think it is more healthy. never heard of the toenails bit but i know that there is no medical reason why people circumcise new born boys. it is just socially accepted. the jewish people do it for religious reasons but no until the boy is a young teen. it is fact that if not cleaned properly it can get infected and that is why it was a common practice before modern times. people if they bathed regularly it was maybe once a month. some people would go years without bathing. in this situation it quite commonly got infected so doctors removed it. this practice is just a left over thing from the past and honestly people should stop. if there is no medical reason small babies should not be put through a unnecessary surgery for which they are not given any pain management. all you men out there think about a big cut right where it used to be and know that no one will give you anything for the pain. now, are you going to do that to your child?

Im not going to try to argue pro vs con about circumcision. Im going to state one fact only: I happen to like oral sex--but not on an uncircumcised penis.

I think its about the same - removing the foreskin on a baby to avoid potential problems and having to pull it back to clean (not until after puberty anyway) is about the same as removing toenails to avoid potential ingrown toenail problems and having to clip/clean them.
