Preschool : What Craftactivities Are The Best To Entertain Children And Relax Them

I am a pre-school teacher and Im just looking at new activities for my children to do as I dont want them getting bored. Im especially looking for activities they can do when some children are still asleep and we are waiting for them to get up. I find painting and drawing get bit old for the kids. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks ~~~ alysseq_86 ~~~

play dough. those linkinblocks or legos, maybe color books or reading a book, snacks, dolls, have them make a sticker page with tons of stickers, try to show them other ways to make drawing fun, ask them to paint their family or pet or something like that and the same with drawing hope it helps

Give them things to glue onto paper. It can be pre-cut pieces of paper - or crumpled tissue. Playdoh - or the new foam doh will ALWAYS keep them occupied. Its messy but they love it. Legos - or any blocks. Give them magnets and metal objects that will stick. Give them a bunch of sox - and let them match them up. Put a bunch of sand in a large plastic container and let them put it through funnels and such. Let them paint using the wheels of hot wheels cars as the brush. Do you have your classroom set up with a creative play area - science area - reading area - blocks area - etc.?? Most kids dont get bored in this type of environment.

You could try puzzles, and or books they can look at. Any soft toys that they can use to play with quietly. Are they old enough that they can play with play dough?
