ok it is really simple you find a centre that is looking for a trainee and you apply lol i think most places you only need year 10 but senior helps too. you sign up as a trainee and it takes between a yr and 2 and you becom a quallified assistant. (you are an assistant when u are a trainee. it is a great way to learn

Answer 1in many states, you only need a high school diploma or GED. then, afterwards, you need to complete so many training hours a year. the link below will get you in touch with some of the states different licensing requirements. here in Ohio, I think at some centers you just need to be a warm body with a GED or HS diploma (to even be a 'teacher'!) In Ohio, a 'certified' teacher means that teacher has completed 18 hours of training recognizing health issues (child abuse, first aid, management of communicable diseases) So, many ads for Ohio day cares say they have state-certified teachers. This DOES NOT mean they have a college degree! just basic health training made them 'certified'!!
Answer 2Many states have different requirements. In Illinois to be an assistant, you have to take 15 hours a year in workshops or classes, including CPR First Aid. To be a "teacher" all you need is 30 hours college credit, doesn't matter what in but child related is a benefit. They also need to keep up on the 15 hour requirement. Although, community colleges offer a vocational certificate in Child Care, or an AAS in Early Childhood. Both of those are only good to use in a daycare or child care field, NOT in a school setting.
Answer 3I can't tell you directly but there is a web site called The Occupational Outlook Handbook sponsored by the government that lists and fully describes every occupation imaginable.
