He spent his final days in Aishah(.)s apartment. When Fatimah came to visit him, Aishah would leave father and daughter together. One day he summoned Fatimah. who said we followed aisha? we just follow the quran and the ahadis and yes most of the hadis are narrated by aisha but that doesnt mean that we are following aisha but we are following the practices of Muhammad (PBUH). regarding the relationship between aisha and fatima, i dont know. i never heard that aisha and fatima didnt get along well (most probably this comes from the shiite scholars). and i have the utmost respect for both of them. EDIT: to the first answer: jealousy in polygamy is natural and Allah knows all the intentions. even the other wives used to be jealous of hazrat aisha when the prophet used to spend time with her. simply putting that she was jealous of hazat khadija and she didnt mention the name of hazrat ali doesnt make the narrations of hazrat aisha invalid.

Not directly at least as youre trying to imply , the name of Fatima is nowhere in those hadiths . Alas , Im sure shiaa feel sorry that nothing was mentioned about Aisha hates Fatima !!

mjaffery, what you quoted is merely the relationship between Aiysha and Khadija. Aiysha didnt hate Khadija, she was jeoules. Any wife feels the same if their husband talks about another woman, dont you think?? Also, who said that we follow Aiysha?? We follow the sayings of the prophet whether they were mentioned by Aiysha, Fatima, or Bilal Al-Habashi. Anything beyond that might be right/wrong. There are some opinions/actions of Aiysha that Sunnies dont approve of. Unlike Shia, we believe that everyone does right/wrong except the prophets.

He was like angel Mikaaeel in his benevolence and Prophet Ibraaheem in his willingness to forgive and his dignified bearing. He took the path of the Prophet and passed away on that path (may Allaah have mercy on him). After Abu Bakr , Umar took command, and I was among those pleased with his appointment. He ruled according to the policy of Allaahs Messenger and his companion, Abu Bakr , following their footsteps the way a young camel follows its mother. I swear by Allaah, he was kind and gentle with the weak, a champion of the cause of the oppressed and without any blame concerning Allaahs religion. Allaah manifested examples of the truth through him and made the truth a part of him to such a degree that we used to think that an angel was speaking with his tongue. Allaah made his conversion a strengthening factor for Islaam, and placed in the hearts of the Hypocrites a fear of him and in the hearts of the believers love for him. Allaahs Messenger compared him to Angel Jibreel in his harshness towards the enemies of Islaam. So who among you can be compared to the two of them. May Allaahs mercy be on them, and may Allaah provide us with the ability to continue in their paths. Let whoever loves me, love them, for whoever does not love them has angered me, and I will have nothing to do with him. If I hear anymore derogatory talk about the two of them, I will punish the offenders severely. After today, whoever is brought before me will get the punishment of a slanderer.
