Best Answer To Toddler Preschooler Question

So many people start too early. Befor your child is 2 they're bladder isn't mature enough to potty train. Your child has to know when they are about to go to the bathroom. I think your problem with the diapers is normal, and just a struggle between parent and child. (which you should win everytime because you are bigger!!!!!)

Answer 2

No, my mother trained me as soon as I started walking. I started walking at 9 months and soon after I started stepping out of my diaper and handing it to her so she sat me down on my potty every time she went and Ta Da!

Answer 3

Every child is different. I was potty trained by 1 years old. I have just started potty training my 20 month old. I think kids will give you signs that they are ready. Such as yours not wanting to wear diapers any more. Just try it. If it doesn't work than no big deal. If it does work, just think, no more diapers!!!!

Answer 4

Start whenever she is ready. Get a potty for her and see if she will use it. No pressure. Also work on a sign for when she needs to go, such as tapping the leg, or walking to the potty.

Answer 5

Not at all. I was potty trained at 13 months old, including nights. It just depends on the child. If you email or IM me, I will send you a great e-book I have on potty training a child in 3 days or less, its awesome! It will also tell you the readiness signs, which will be really helpful for you. email and IM: starsalso@

Answer 6

try putting her on the potty. if she doesn't go for it, you could try taking her with you when you go so she can see how "big girls" go potty. just remember, she'll go when she's ready, not when you're ready for her to go.

Answer 7

More important than age are the readiness signs. Here they are: Your child may be ready to start toilet training if he: a€¢ Can walk and sit down a€¢ Has regular bowel movements at relatively predictable times a€¢ Can pull his pants up and down a€¢ Shows interest in others' bathroom habits (likes to watch you go to the bathroom, wants to wear underwear, etc.) a€¢ Makes a physical demonstration when he's having a bowel movement (grunting, squatting, telling you, etc.) a€¢ Has words for stool and urine a€¢ Can follow simple instructions, such as "Go get the toy" a€¢ Understands the physical signals that mean he has to go and can tell you before it happens or hold it until he has time to get to the potty a€¢ Dislikes the feeling of being in a dirty diaper a€¢ Has "dry" periods of at least three or four hours a€¢ Isn't negative about a€” or resistant to a€” learning to use the toilet a€¢ Understands the value of putting things where they belong a€¢ Demonstrates a desire for independence

Answer 8

Go ahead and start her! My son did the same thing. Never wanted a diaper or a pull up on. So i did the potty training thing. He actually caught on quickly. It is better on ur wallet too.

Answer 9

It's not too early but you have to know that this may not give any result at that age

Answer 10

Just try it and see how it goes it fi work then thats great if not then just ry again at a later stange

Answer 11

Anywhere from 18 months to 2 years but all kids are different. You might try potty training now since she doesn't like diapers but she might resort back to diapers half way into it. I started my daughter at around 18 months old and she caught on right away. Maybe your daughter is going thru the "naked baby" stage. My daughter loved to take her diaper off and run thru the house and her dad and I would yell "naked baby" and she would giggle like crazy. That was usually before her bath tho'. Good Luck!

Answer 12

you know this could be a phase you know like pulling hair or yea you could try to potty train her

Answer 13

when they can walk

Answer 14

Strat training. get the pull up things that are like diapers during training. When we trained my little girl, we gave her rewards. when we got her underwear, we told her if she went in these blue's clue's was going to bite her.
