Your best bet for the most valuable Transformers would be store exclusives, all of the major retailers like Target, Wal-Mart, and ToysRUs get figures that are uniquely made just for them, the total number of these figures is a lot less than the regular Transformers that all the stores get so they are harder to find and usually fetch a higher price. Also the more popular characters, the ones they always bring back in the new Transformers series tend to have a slightly higher resale value.

really nothing from any newer line will be valuable. but the original G1 figures are worth quite a bit. but i would start with the voyagers they are quite nice and more detailed then the delux class figures. i have the 07 movie starscream and the 09 movie ironhide. both are voyagers
